Tenom is a small town located deep in the Interior Residency of Sabah. The main tourist attractions here are the Tenom Agriculture Park, Murut Culture Centre, and the coffee plantation. This is also a good place if one needs a quiet place for retreat or just wants to get away from the rat race. While there are a few budget accommodations at the town, many would agree that the best hotel in Tenom will have to be the Perkasa Hotel. Located just 2 km away from the town and perched highly at a hill slope that overlooks the entire valley. This hotel provides guests with comfortable rooms, many useful facilities and most of all good services.

The Perkasa Hotel can be easily spotted from the town centre, since this seven storey high building, the tallest in Tenom, stood out among the green forest. This building is also a carbon copy of the more well known Mount Kinabalu Heritage Resort and Spa at Kundasang. With a total of 63 rooms and four different types of rooms to choose from, guests are certain to fine one that suits them. Most of the rooms on the second and third floors are standard rooms, and these rooms are further categorized into single, double and twin. Next up are the deluxe rooms which are on the fourth to sixth floors. Like the standard rooms, the deluxe rooms are also divided into single, double and twin.

If one wants a more spacious room then it would be a good idea to rent the standard suite. While the best rooms offered by the hotel is the executive suite, only two units are available.
All rooms are equipped with standard facilities like private bath or shower and water heater. For entertainment, colour televisions with Astro service keep the guests happy. Coffee and tea making facilities are also provided for the convenience of the guests. Special services and amenities like laundry service, room service and safety deposit boxes can be arranged with the receptionist. Wireless internet service is also available. If one is short in cash, no worry, as this hotel does accept most of the major credit cards.

Located on the ground floor and next to the garden compound (Perkasa Botanic Park), lies the Sapong restaurant which serves local and western cuisines. With ten tables that can sit ten persons each, the Sapong Restaurant has a total capacity for one hundred persons. The is one of the largest restaurants in Tenom, which is well suitable for anniversaries, annual dinners, and wedding receptions. For a simple meal one can try out the Rafflesia Corner just opposite the lobby. Local and western style food are served here. From 7 am to 11 am daily, Raffelsia Corner is the venue for guests with breakfast included in their room tariff. Both these eateries open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.

For those who are interested to hold functions, retreats or seminars, Perkasa Hotel has three conference rooms that come in various sizes to cater for their needs. The largest room is the Rundum Room which has a capacity of 250 persons. The Malalap Room and Natandum Room are much smaller and they have a capacity of sixty and forty persons respectively.

How to go there? Tenom is about 180 km from Kota Kinabalu. Public transport whether bus or chartered taxi are available at the Padang Bus Terminal. On average the journey will take about three hours. For those who are interested to self-drive to Tenom, there are two options. One can take the KK-Beaufort road. Upon reaching Kimanis town follow the Kimanis bypass to Keningau, and from here it is another one hour drive to Tenom. Or one can take the KK- Tambunan Road via Penampang. Once you reached Tambunan drive to Keningau, and then on to Tenom town the last stop. There should be enough road signs along the way to guide the drivers. Both routes will pass through the scenic Crocker mountain range.
