Nabalu Lodge was closed down in 2009. After about 18 months of renovation and waiting, finally that period is over. Nabalu Lodge has reopened to the public once more. They still only has 16 rooms for rent, but these rooms are very much up graded compared with the old ones. The prices of the rooms show too. Nabalu Lodge used to have six different types of rooms. Today they have made thing simple with just two types of rooms: studio chalet and nabalu room. The six units of studio chalets situated higher up on the slope and the ten units of nabalu rooms located on the same old ground are ready for booking now. These rooms only have double bed, either in king size or queen size, great for couples or people who don’t mind sharing a bed.
The Nabalu Room is clean and basic in design. All rooms come with an attached bathroom which is equipped with hot and cold water shower. TV set and coffee and tea making facilities are available on all rooms. The room also has two single seater chairs. Each room has it own balcony for guests to enjoy the outdoor. One would want to consider the rooms with Mount Kinabalu view.

Nabalu restaurant offers a few choices of steamboats, so inquire with the captain or waitress. The steam boat has food like vegetables, meats, and seafood, where guests need to cook the food themselves, and guests can choose between Tom Yam soup or Chicken soup. These soups are a great way to warming up the body against the cold surroundings of Kundasang.
