Consfood Bakery

Nestled among the shoplots at Friendly Garden Phase 3 which is not far from Damai Commercial Centre, lies this small but very stylish bakery and pastry shop called Consfood. Situated at the back of the Lintas Superstore, Consfood Bakery offers fresh baked pastries all day long. Items offered by Consfood include buns, cupcakes, donuts, pies and sandwiches. For breads Consfood has baguette, soft-white bread, and wholemeal bread. This is also a great place to sit down and chat over coffee. Comfortable and classic garden tables and chairs are placed on the five foot walkway. A few trees beside the walkway shield this small seating area from the street leading to Lintas Supermarket. The trees and a well kept lawn also give an added beauty to this place.

Kids will love the colourful donuts, which come with flavours like chocolate, lemon, mint, orange and strawberry. Donuts are priced at RM 1.80 each. The cupcakes look equally mouth-watering with flavours like carrot & walnut, chocolate, lemon, marble, mixed fruit and Vanilla. These cupcakes are priced at RM 2.00 each. Many types of freshly baked buns are offered here. To name a few there are chicken flossy bun, durian bun, garlic stick, and sausage bun. One can also try out the spider bun, an in house bun with cheese filling inside, and the outer layer is decorated with creative chocolate webs. The buns’ price range from RM 1.50 to RM 2.00. Other pastry products like the tasty beef curry pies, turkey sandwich, and vanilla Swiss rolls are also available at Consfood.

This is also a good place to stop over for your daily bread supply, especially if one stays around Luyang and Damai areas. Baguette which shapes like a stick is priced at RM 2.40 each. Wholemeal bread and soft-white bread start from RM 3.00. Consfood breads are also available at major Giant hypermarkets in Kota Kinabalu. On drinks, Consfood serves cold soft drinks, Milo, and Nescafe iced coffee: Black Roast, Latte, Mocha, and Original. For hot drinks, one can select Cappuccino or Espresso from the coffee making machine.

How to go there? From Kota Kinabalu, take the Tuaran road and use the flyover to turn into Kolam road. After passing the second Petronas station make a left turn into Lorong Nibung, one can easily locate Consfood Bakery from here. All buses to Luyang will pass by here too, just stop at the bus stop before the Damai and Foh Sang traffic light. From the bus stop to Consfood Bakery is less than a hundred metres away.
