In the year 2000 The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, in short Coffee Bean, opened it’s first outlet in Damai Commercial Centre and it is also the first branded cafe company to establish itself in Kota Kinabalu. KK Lites response to the then new Coffee Bean Damai was overwhelming, for the next six months every night whether inside or outdoor the cafe was always packed with people. Since then KK Lites get to know new terms like Mocha, Iced Blended, Latte, and Expresso very well. Today other cafe brands like Starbucks, Oldtown, The Old Station Kopitiam and San Francisco have expanded their operation into Kota Kinabalu, and the crowds at Coffee Bean Damai has calmed down, and finding a table is so much easier nowadays.
Few types of drinks are available at Coffee Bean, these are Brewed Coffee, Expresso, Brewed Tea, Tea Latte, and of course the ever popular Ice Blended. The Ice Blended is such a hot hit for Sabahan, most likely due to our hot climate, a few sip of the sweet Ice Blended drinks is a sure way to get your body temperature down. Mocha Ice Blended is by far the most sought after ice blended drinks, and one can top it up with whipped cream at no extra cost. If one is lost at all these choices, just go with Today’s Brew, be surprised for a good brew from one of the many types of fresh coffee beans selected from around the world. Other than drinks Coffee Bean also serves some very high quality cakes, including the very tasty cheese cakes, in as many as 7 different types. Note: the carrots cake is just as good.
Where do one find Coffee Bean in Kota Kinabalu? Good news is there are as many as five Coffee Bean cafes scatter around the city and suburb.
