Every night when you walk pass or drive by Beach Street, you just can’t miss the crowd dinning at the corner shop, where Sin Kee Bah Kut Teh operates. Inside the restaurant or the outdoor dinning on the walk way almost all the tables are always taken up. Yes, every one comes to enjoy a good delicious meal of Bah Kut Teh at Sin Kee. For direction Sin Kee Bah Kut Teh is located in the middle section of Beach Street (Jalan Pantai), and it is beside Ang’s Hotel and facing the OCBC bank.
Bah Kut Teh is a mixture of pork meats and various body parts. These pork meats and parts are served with a well prepared herbs and blend them to a wonderful soup. Sin Kee has a nice and well balanced soup where customers will like to refill and refill. The good stuff is there is no extra charges for asking more soups. Some restaurants use strong MSG to made their Bah Kut Teh soup, and after the meal, one seems to be always thristy. But this is not the case in Sin Kee Bah Kut Teh though.
One can order a big claypot of Bah Kut Teh where all the different pork meats and parts are served together with the soup. Or one can also order them separately with individual item of choice, the individual order will cost about RM 30 to RM 50 depending on the numbers of item you order. The claypot Bah Kut Teh price starts at RM 8.
Things to order when going for single items. The pork intestine and stomach are good choice, while the mushroom is the only non pork item. Lean meat, drunken liver with ginger and braised pork trotter can also be ordered. At Sin Kee Bah Kut the the following stuffs come automatically when ordering individual items, namely : Ham Choi, small To Fu, and Yu Cha Kui. After tasting the delicious Bah Kut Teh at Sin Kee, a repeat will not be in the long distant future.
How to get there? Sin Kee Bah Kut Teh is within walking distance from most of the hotels in Kota Kinabalu, just walk to Beach Street and it can’t be miss. Or simlply take a taxi.
