Magical Christmas

Once again we have arrived at the end of the calender year, and the year end sale has started to kick in. Every shopping mall in and around Kota Kinabalu is busy doing promotion, and malls have splendid decoration put up to bring in the crowds. Customers also get a special bonus as the whole of Malaysia is celebrating the Saving Sale from the 29th of November to 3rd of January, 2009. Some shopping malls will extend their business hours as the festival draws nearer.

For the last few months woeful reports of bad business management came one after another, and so many job cuts happen around the world, so much so that the whole world is fearful of the uncertain 2009. But in downtown Kota Kinabalu things are looking good, day by day people from all walks of life are jamming up the streets as they prepare for this year-end celebrations. Although this year people will cut down on their spending, but I believe the spirit of giving is still going to triumph over the fear of recession.

This year KK Lites have a new destination for the year end shopping. The biggest shopping centre in Kota Kinabalu 1Borneo Hypermall welcomes every one with its Magical Christmas theme. The Christmas decoration at 1Borneo is second to none, may be it is the best decorated shopping center in the whole of Kota Kinabalu. Santa Claus, Reindeers, Snow man, snow flakes, fairies, and Christmas Trees, are seen almost everywhere in 1Borneo Hypermall.

The centre atrium has a beautiful Castle that almost reaches the top of the building, which is four storeys high. The Castle is great for picture taking. Many customers will come here just to take pictures with these beautiful X’mas decorations and designs.

1Borneo Hypermall is the best place to shop for fashions, branded stuffs and trendy designer wear. From Clothing to shoes, and from bags to ties, there are enough branded or non branded items to wrap as gifts for anyone. There are so many outlets here that one can literally shop till you drop.

This Santa Claus Chair will cost RM 10.00 if one wants to take a picture sitting on it. Christmas Trees with a few different decorations can be seen all over the malls.

There are many prizes to be won together with the “Malaysia Savings Sale” which is organised by the management of 1Borneo, and the tourist department. Do visit these beautiful decorations and castles, before the season comes to an end.
