Tucked away from the main road, and shielded away from the public eyes, the Grace Point Food Court is one of Kota Kinabalu most trendy eating outlets. Located at Sembulan, which is opposite to the Sutera Harbour Hotels, and just 2 km away from Kota Kinabalu, Grace Point Food Court consists of many hawker style outlets that specialise in one or two local or foreign flavours.
Note: Sadly the Dowish Restaurant at Grace Point Food Court has closed down in November, 2008. The other branch at Penampang is still open.
Dovist Restaurant like many other seafood restaurants in Kota Kinabalu, has big cascading aquariums that display many life crabs, fish, prawns, and seashells. Clients can choose the right choices before they are put onto the woks. Dovist restaurant applies Chinese style cooking to prepare its seafood.
Menu is not available at Dovist Restaurant, so the popular seafood dishes like the steamed fresh fish, butter prawns (dry or wet), and sweet and sour crabs are always a good bet. Many different varieties of preparing the seafood are also available, do ask the helpful captain for suggestion. Below are some sample platters from Dovish Restaurants.
The open air setting of the Dovist Restaurant lets clients feel the gentle sea breeze blowing in from the South China Sea. Clean and spacious environments also make the dinning experience here a pleasant one.
Grace Point Food Court is also where the Double Six Monument is. The Double Six Monument commemorates a sad tragedy in Sabah History. In June 6th, 1976 the former chief minister of Sabah, the late Tun Fuad Stephen was killed when his plane together with six other state ministers crushed here.
Note: Grace Point Food Court has one of the most trendy public washrooms in town, where a small beautiful garden is built inside the washroom.
